GUIDELINES FOR SUBMISSION OF PROJECT
Submission of Individual Work
- All work must be submitted as one PowerPoint file with six (6) slides.
- Only one PowerPoint file per student. Please see note below pertaining to group project
submissions.
- Slide 1 is a title slide with your name and title of the project. No graphics are to be included
on this slide because it will be deleted in the master file that faculty review.
- Slides 2-6 are for images of your best project. Please note that only one project is to be
submitted. No names are to appear on the five project slides; they must remain anonymous.
- Individual images or PDF files will not be accepted.
- You may need to rotate or scale your images to fit or fill the PowerPoint slide.
- Do not animate your PowerPoint slides.
- Provide a brief description to assist the judges in evaluating your project (25 words
maximum). Place this description on the "notes" section of the first slide. If your project is
selected, this description will be printed and posted with your project in the Design Gallery.
- Submit your one PowerPoint file on a CD-ROM. We will not accept floppy disks, zip disks,
or emailed files.
- Please label your CD-ROM with your name and major.
- All media will be available for collection in the School of Design office one week after the
opening of the Design Excellence Exhibit.
- All media not collected by the last day of the spring semester will be destroyed.
- Project must be submitted to the office of the School of Design no later than 5:00 PM Friday,
February 6, 2004.
Additional Notes
- Group projects may be submitted. File must follow the guidelines described above. Please
coordinate with your classmates regarding who is submitting the group project. Multiple
submissions of the same group project will not be evaluated.
- The faculty members in your major will select the Finalists. If selected, you will be notified
in writing and will be required to submit your actual project to the School of Design office by
5:00 PM on a date to be announced.
- All students will receive a certificate of participation. Finalists will receive a special
certificate. Winners will also receive a cash award.
- A panel of practicing design professionals from the various professional design organizations
will judge the finalists from the actual projects displayed in the Design Gallery. Two-
dimensional projects must be securely mounted on a board for display on Gallery walls;
three-dimensional projects will be displayed on pedestals or platforms.
- All project submissions will be presented electronically during the opening reception in the
Design Gallery.
