Background The School of Design is a premier institution of its kind. It has three nationally recognized and accredited programs in graphic, industrial and interior design. The School also has a long and enviable record of collaboration with the local professional design associations. Last year the School hosted an annual Design Excellence Exhibit in the spring semester of the academic year. From all perspectives, it was a resounding success. For obvious reasons, the School wishes to repeat the event and, like last year, organize the Design Excellence Exhibit with the direct engagement of the local professional community. Purpose The Design Excellence Exhibit serves several purposes. They are:
An extremely important aspect of the Design Excellence Exhibit is the involvement of the local professional design associations. These are the American Institute of Graphic Artists (AIGA), the Industrial Designers Society of America (IDSA), the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID), the International Interior Design Association (IIDA), the International Furnishings and Design Association (IFDA) and the Society of Environmental Graphic Designers (SEGD). an
